The last few weeks have been a struggle for many to keep active with stores closed, restaurants closed, and stay at home orders throughout the United States. However, during this time it doesn’t mean we should stay cooped up inside every second of the day. Below are some suggestions to stay active and keep healthy during this time:

  • Take a walk – get out and take a walk, jog, or run through your neighborhood or a park (if open). With Springtime the flowers are growing, trees are blooming, and warmer weather makes it a perfect time to walk and take in mother nature. Plus getting in some daily sunshine will help improve your mood and energy level.

  • Work on your “To Do List” – most likely you have some projects around the house or yard you would like to get done and maybe you have even been procrastinating to do them. With the extra time we have on our hands this is a perfect time to take care of those projects. If you don’t have a list, try coming up with some task to get done.

  • Deep Clean for Spring – We are constantly hearing to wash our hands and clean surfaces. Rather than just performing a normal cleaning do a deep clean by doing extra steps such as clean the windowsill, clean inside and outside of the refrigerator, and dusting. You can do a quick online search for some great deep cleaning checklist.

  • Work out at home – with several gyms closed many are offering free Facebook live or online classes at this time. Check out online workouts in YouTube. If you have some spare money you can also buy online workout programs to do at home such as BeachBody.com

  • Learn something new – Internet has made so much available at our fingertips. You can learn to cook, finances, art, music, etc.… The possibilities are unlimited. Check out classes on YouTube for free and if you have some extra money check out Masterclass.com

  • Enjoy catching up on a favorite show or movie – you probably have a show or movie you would like to see. Enjoy taking some rest time to watch a movie or show (even binge watch a tv series). Relaxing isn’t a problem but don’t become a couch potato during this.

What are you doing to stay active and healthy during this time? Please comment to share your ideas.
